Cardiac Rehab

Cardiac rehab is an important tool that aides in regaining strength after surgery and return to full function. It’s a program that helps improve your life with exercise tailored to you and education regarding diet, risk factors, etc.

You’ll receive a cardiac rehab referral at discharge from the hospital, and complete a program while keeping in touch with both your surgeon and your cardiologist. You can call to initiate this process as soon as you are discharged. The program usually lasts 12 weeks, and is about one hour 3 times a week, usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It is tailored to your strength, history, risk factors, etc and is monitored with telemetry and staff.

The American Heart Association has a great list of tools and resources to help with questions and other information listed below.
